Course information
Masters of Soft Tissue focuses on the periodontal tissues around teeth: improving tissue quality, treating isolated recession and approaching more extensive root-coverage cases. The teaching moves from foundational tissue considerations toward full-arch and full-mouth grafting.
The DentalEDX curriculum includes four modules and 55 video parts. Its final module addresses preparation for esthetic cases, connecting the earlier surgical topics with the planning of more demanding treatments.
Study the sequence at your pace, then return to the relevant module when reviewing tissue augmentation or root-coverage principles. Recorded education supports clinical learning; it does not replace supervised surgical training or patient-specific assessment.
Who this course is for
Most relevant to clinicians with a periodontal foundation who want to study grafting and root-coverage approaches in more depth.
Build a more informed understanding of tissue quality, recession and the role of periodontal surgical treatment.
Review single-site and extensive root-coverage topics within a structured learning sequence.
Consider how tissue preparation and gingival conditions relate to esthetic case planning.
Soft-tissue planning
Recession coverage and tissue augmentation are related—but they are not the same objective.
The module sequence separates improving tissue quality from single-root and extensive root coverage. This makes it easier to revisit the teaching relevant to a particular type of defect without losing the wider treatment context.
Tissue quality → Single-root coverage → Extensive grafting → Esthetic case preparation
What you’ll learn
01Begin with the tissue conditions and augmentation concepts that underpin subsequent root-coverage teaching.
02Follow the dedicated module on esthetic coverage of an isolated root surface.
03Study the full-arch and full-mouth root-coverage module before moving to esthetic case preparation.
Esthetic preparation
The final module focuses on preparation for esthetic cases. Use it alongside the tissue-quality and root-coverage teaching to review how the treatment objective shapes the surgical discussion.
